Hi Friends,

I think I mentioned that it’s been raining here for the last few days, and while it’s nice weather for baking and creating, it’s not best for picture taking. I’ve been making DIY Christmas signs, and I actually finished one of them yesterday, and would you believe I’ve been trying since then to get a good picture?! It feels like I took hundreds of them, but I finally got a photo that was decent. Anyway, I’ve been wanting one of those signs that say believe, and now I have one!

Mine is just a little bit different, though! I wanted a wooden sign, but I also wanted to use some red burlap that I bought recently. Actually, I almost made a wall hanging with the burlap, but y’all know how much I love using wood! I started out with a 1 x 6-piece of wood that is about 39 inches long.

I wanted some color on the wood, so I gave it a very rough coat of white paint, and then I cut the burlap to fit the board. I wanted some of the painted wood to show, so I left some room at both ends.

I bought some glittery letters before Thanksgiving, and I thought they would make a nice contrast with the rest of the sign — kind of a rustic glam style, which I absolutely love! Plus, all I had to do was glue them onto the burlap — can’t beat that!

And, that’s all, folks! Like I said, the hardest part about this project was getting a decent picture. I finally took the sign outside and took advantage of a less-than-cloudy moment.

I really wanted to show you how it looks on the wall above our couch, but because it’s so dark, this is the best I can do for now!

Someone else doesn’t mind the dreary weather at all, and he believes this is the perfect spot for a little nap!

Finally! An easy to do sign tutorial! Thanks so much for these how-to directions. Most signs I have seen involve transferring letters, hand painting, stenciling, etc. I think even I could do this one.

Thanks, Karen! I'm really not that patient, so that's why I used the letters. 🙂
