Instant Pot Peach Dump Cake is an easy summer dessert recipe that you make in the pressure cooker with just 4 ingredients in only 30 minutes!

You could say I’m slightly obsessed with easy Instant Pot recipes right now. I have loads of Instant Pot dinner recipes here on Meatloaf and Melodrama and a few side dishes. So, I guess it’s about time to add a few Instant Pot desserts to the mix!

This peach dump cake is an easy Instant Pot dessert recipe that is basically a peach cobbler or peach crisp, only it’s way easier! I guess you could call this a no bake dessert because you only use the oven to broil it for about 5 minutes in the end. And, that part is optional!

At first, I was wary of making desserts in the Instant Pot. So I experimented with one of our favorite easy dessert recipes — Easy Peach Cake. You guys, this Instant Pot dump cake is the bomb!ย  And one of the best things about this easy Instant Pot cake is that you don’t need to heat up your house in the summer to enjoy it!

How to make peach dump cake in the Instant Pot pressure cooker

One reason why it took my so long to attempt making Instant Pot desserts was that I didn’t have any cake pans that fit in the Instant Pot. Yes, I really need to order some on Amazon, but in the meantime, I just decided to use one of my oven-safe Corningware casserole dishes.

You can use any oven-safe cake pan that will fit in your Instant Pot to make this peach cake. I used my 6 quart pressure cooker for this recipe, so my 1.5 quart dish ( 6.5 inches ) fit perfectly.

To make the cake, all you do is grease the pan, and add 2 cans of sliced peaches. We cut the peach slices in half, but this is optional. Next, sprinkle in some cinnamon for extra flavor!

Then, you add about half a bag of yellow cake mix directly on top of the peaches and swirl the cake mix lightly so that some of the dry mix gets mixed with the peach juice.

Add some pats of butter evenly over the cake mix. When it melts, it’s form a rich, buttery crust.

Now, it’s time to bake the cake in the Instant Pot!

Add water and the trivet to the pot, and place the cake pan on the trivet. You’ll need to place a small square of foil over the pan to prevent water from dripping all over the cake. I forgot to do this once, and the crust was good, but not as crisp and firm as I wanted.

I found that cooking the dump cake for 25 minutes with a 5 minute natural release was perfect!

To make the crust extra golden and delicious, I popped the cake under the broiler for about 5 minutes. It’s not required, but I definitely recommend it!

Let the cake cool slightly, then dig in! A scoop of vanilla ice cream on top makes this delicious pressure cooker peach dump cake even better!

Can you make this cake in the slow cooker?

Definitely! You can make this slow cooker peach cobbler recipe, but the amounts are slightly different.

Can you use a different fruit filling?

You can use cherry pie filling and make Instant Pot cherry dump cake or apple pie filling or apple slices for Instant Pot apple dump cake. These are next on my list!

  1. Isabeau says:

Hi, I’m looking at making this recipe, sounds delish, but I am not sure which setting to use – I assume on makes other than Instant Pot PRESSURE COOK is named MANUAL, but do I use the Low, Medium or High setting? Thanks

    1. Dee says:

Use either Pressure Cook or Manual depending on what model you have. I always use high pressure for pressure cooking.

  2. Robyn England says:

Can I make this In a springform pan For the instant pot. It sounds delicious.

    1. Dee says:

It’s more of a cobbler, so I think the peach juice might run out of a springform pan. If you have a round cake pan that fits, I’d use that instead.

      1. Michele says:

wish I had rad this before making!! LOL – yeah I learned not to use springform pan as it leaks out the bottom. I just dumped it into a bowl after cook.. Eating right now and it’s delicious!!!

      2. Michele says:

“read” not rad! LOL sorry. I sound like an illiterate – LOL – but you get the idea!!

      3. Dee says:

I’m glad you liked it, though. Thanks for letting me know. ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Linda says:

I’m going to make this peach cake in my Instant Pot, but I don’t want to put it under the broiler. For me that’s a big reason I purchased my.IP so I could do most of my cooking in it rather than my oven or broiler. We’ll see how it turns out.
I’ve had my Instant Pot for about a month and that’s the only appliance I’ve used for cooking other than breakfast since purchasing it. So far everything I’ve made has been a great success. I’ve been cooking since I got married 58 years ago, cooking had become a chore, but now I’m actually looking so forward to trying new and old recipes. I may eat these words, but right now it seems like a fool proof method of cooking. I’m in love with my Instant Pot.

      1. Dee says:

Hope you liked the peach cake, Linda. The Instant Pot does make cooking easier — I’m glad you’re enjoying it!

    3. Beverly Dieker says:

You can make it with a springfoam pan if you line it with aluminum foil. Just make sure there are no holes in the aluminum foil. I browned it with my instant pot air fry lid. Didnโ€™t have to heat up the oven. I had a small cake mix so I used a little over half. Was very liquify after cooking the first time. I added the rest of the cake mix and cooked it 25 minutes again. Delicious!5 stars

  3. Curious is Wi says:

Can u just use the pot that came with the instant pot?

    1. Dee says:

The inner pot? It probably wouldn’t work since you would need water to pressurize, which would make it soggy. You can do it this way in the crock-pot, though.

  4. Stan says:

I used a snickerdoodle cookie mix and did arir crisp for 10 minutes. it was delicious.5 stars

    1. Dee says:

That sounds so good! Thanks for sharing!

  5. Debbi says:

Well I sure goofed on my first dessert, but it is the 9th time using my 6 Qt Duo. I got side tracked and forgot to put aluminum foil on top ๐Ÿ˜ซ. It’s ok it is an inexpensive dessert to make so I will try again another day. I used a Dunkin Hines white cake mix because I didn’t have a yellow cake mix. I did try to broil it in the oven after it was done to see if it would crisp up the crust, but it didn’t. The crust was really soggy however the flavor was outstanding. If you make this don’t make the mistake of forgetting the aluminum foil like I did. I still ate some can’t wait until next time ๐Ÿ˜5 stars

    1. Dee says:

I’m so glad you liked the flavor, Debbi. Hope it’s better next time. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Kylee says:

I put the peaches and the cake mix in the IP, not in a separate pan. Will it still work? I also mixed the cake mix in completely. Is that not good?

    1. Dee says:

It will most likely have trouble reaching pressure since it’s so thick.

  7. Margaret says:

    How about blueberry?!
If making any other flavor dump cakes, would I still use cinnamon?

    1. Dee says:

Maybe just with apple or pear. I have a cherry dump cake recipe, and I don’t make that with cinnamon. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Jesika says:

Where do you store the remains? In a refrigerator or on a counter. Making today to take to a party tomorrow.

    1. Dee says:

You can do either one. I keep it in the fridge in the summer, though. ๐Ÿ™‚
