Every year, the kids and I make a few super easy Halloween treats. It’s fun to do, and it’s tradition — like always having Mummy Dogs for dinner on Halloween night! We’ve been doing these for a looooong time!
These Nutter Butter ghosts aren’t exactly new. Actually, they’ve been around for awhile. I’ve made these before -Maybe, you’ve made them? Maybe not.
Anyway, I’m sharing these ghost cookies here because they are super, super easy, and that definitely works for me. Besides, these little boos are also super cute! They’re perfect for Halloween party treats or an easy Halloween dessert.
Ingredients
You only need 3 ingredients to make these Nutter Butter ghost cookies. Doesn’t get much easier than that!
- Nutter Butter cookies — or any long sandwich cookie
- White chocolate chips — or white candy melts
- Mini chocolate chips
How to Make Halloween Ghost Cookies
First, melt the white chocolate or candy coating or candy melts according to package instructions. You can do this on a stove or in a microwave, which is what we usually do.
We melt the chocolate in 15 second increments, stirring between increments, until the chocolate is melted.
Next, use a fork to dip each cookie into the melted chocolate and place the coated cookie on wax paper to dry.
If you have a cookie cooling rack, you can place the coated cookies on that.
Or, just place them on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
Then, use the mini chocolate chips to make the eyes and mouth. Just press them into the chocolate before it dries.
And that’s all it takes to make these adorable ghost cookies They’re bootiful!
You can use this basic Halloween cookie decorating idea to make as many of these easy ghost cookies as you like.
Kids of all ages love finger foods and Halloween party food like this. So, these cookies tend to go fast!
Variations
We usually make our Nutter Butter ghosts look like the classic ghost design, but you can have as much fun as you want with these fun Halloween cookies!
Instead of chocolate chips, use black sprinkles or a small tube of black gel frosting to make the ghost mouth and eyes.
You can also use candy eyes to make these adorable ghost cookies more cartoonish.
If you’re not a fan of white chocolate, dip these cute ghost cookies in regular melted chocolate chips, candy melts, or white candy coating.
How to Store
Keep your Nutter ghost cookies in an airtight container. You don’t have to keep them in the refrigerator, unless your kitchen is really warm.
