Nutter Butter Reindeer Cookies are easy no bake Christmas treats made with peanut butter cookies, pretzels and a few simple ingredients. These adorable reindeer cookies are perfect for holiday parties and cookie trays throughout the season!

If you’re looking for easy no bake Christmas cookies, you’re going to love these super cute reindeer cookies!
They’re made with just a handful of ingredients, and they only take a few minutes to assemble. As much as I love holiday baking, I always make a few no bake treats, as well.
These reindeer cookies start out with store bought sandwich cookies, just like Nutter Butter ghost cookies, Oreo turkey cookies and Nutter Butter flip flops.
All you do is decorate them, and they’re perfect for a Christmas party or your Christmas Eve cookie plate!
Ingredients
You only need 5 ingredients to make Nutter Butter reindeers. You can find the ingredients in your grocery store or online if you don’t already have them at home:
- Nutter Butter sandwich cookies
- Mini pretzels
- Candy eyes
- Mini red candies
- Chocolate chips
How to Make Nutter Butter Reindeer Cookies
First, have all of your ingredients out and ready to go. Have ready a prepared cookie sheet or plate covered with wax paper or parchment paper, to put the finished cookies onto.
For the antlers, you’re going to need to break each mini pretzel in half, with each half being one antler.
Because it’s hard to evenly break a pretzel, I recommend using a knife to slice a shallow indent into the middle of the pretzel, where you want it to break in half.
Then, snap the pretzel along the indent–it should break perfectly along the line you’ve cut!
Once you’ve made the antlers, it’s time to melt the chocolate chips. We melt the chips in 30 second increments in the microwave, stirring in between.
You can use either the microwave or the double boiler method over the stove to melt the chocolate.
With your chocolate melted and ingredients ready to go, it’s time to start assembling the reindeer nutter butters!
First, place the pretzel halves onto the top of the cookie to make the antlers, using the melted chocolate as an adhesive.
For precise application–and so that you don’t get excess chocolate all over the reindeer–dip a toothpick into the chocolate and use it to place chocolate onto the pretzel.
I recommend placing the pretzel pieces not too far off of the reindeer’s head. That way, the antlers will stay on.
Then, use melted chocolate and a toothpick to apply the eyes and noses. We had both candy eyes and mini chocolate chips for eyes, and a mini red m&m for the noses.
Whatever candy you use, make sure to place it into the grooves of the nutter butters, so that they they stick better and stay in place.
That’s all it takes to make these adorable reindeer cookies! These cute treats are the perfect finger food for the Christmas season!
Variations
We like to keep our Nutter Butter creations simple, but you can have as much fun as you want with these peanut butter reindeer cookies!
One way to vary these cookies is to use melted candy coating or chocolate candy melts. You can dip nutter butter cookies so that the whole thing is coated, and press the mini pretzel twists, eyes, and ears into the coating before it’s dried. Or, use the candy melts as an adhesive instead of chocolate chips.
You could also use melted candy coating, or different types of chocolate, to draw on the reindeer features instead of using candy. White chocolate or white candy melts make the whites of the eyes, while black candy melts, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate make the pupils.
Any type of small red candy will work for the noses–red m&ms and Red Hots are our favorites. But, you don’t need to make all the reindeer Rudolphs either! A brown mini m&m or a white m&m will work just as well.
If you want different antler shapes, you can use longer pretzel sticks. You could also dip the pretzels in chocolate, refrigerate them, and stick coated antlers on the cookie.
How to Store
Store your Nutter Butter reindeer cookies in an airtight container. I would recommend refrigerating them after you initially assemble them, to help the features stick.
But afterwards, you can leave these little Rudolph cookie at room temperature, if your kitchen isn’t too warm.
Nutter Butter Reindeer Cookies
Ingredients
- 12 Nutter Butter sandwich cookies
- 12 mini pretzels
- 24 candy eyes
- 12 mini red candies
- ¼ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Cut pretzels in half — see blog post for tips
- Melt chocolate chips in 30 seconds increments, stirring in between until melted, or follow directions on package
- Put a little bit of chocolate on the back of the bottom of the pretzel. Place the pretzel on the top of the Nutter Butter cookie
- Place a little bit of chocolate on the candy eyes. Place the eyes right below the pretzel "antlers"
- Put a little bit of chocolate on a mini red candy. Place the candy on the bottom part of the cookie
- Repeat until all cookies are decorated
- Set in fridge to firm up, or until the chocolate has hardened
