Ingredients
You only need a few simple ingredients for this chocolate peanut butter cheesecake dip recipe. They should be easy to find in your grocery store.
- Peanut butter — I use Skippy’s natural peanut butter, but any creamy peanut butter works.
- Cream cheese — Room temperature cream cheese is best for easy mixing
- Powdered sugar — to sweeten the dip
- Vanilla extract — for a subtle vanilla flavor
- Cool Whip — thawed
- Mini Reese’s — or any small chocolate peanut butter candy
How to Make Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake Dip
In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and vanilla until smooth. Then, mix in peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
I use an electric mixer on medium speed, but you can use a stand mixer if you have one.
Next, gently fold in the Cool Whip. Use a spatula to mix the whipped topping into peanut butter mixture until well blended.
Don’t use a mixer for this part as the Cool Whip won’t be as fluffy.
When the cream cheese mixture is blended, add the mini peanut butter cups. You can stir some into the dip or use as a topping.
Or, you can do both! This makes the dip extra chocolatey.
How to Store
Store this no bake treat in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It keeps for up to 4 days.
Although you can eat the dip right away, the flavors are better after chilling for an hour or so. It’s actually even better the next day!
What to Serve with Peanut Butter Dessert Dip
Serve the dip in a serving bowl with your favorite dippers. It’s not an overly sweet dip, so almost anything goes here.
We suggest graham crackers, chocolate graham crackers, Nilla Wafers, Nutter Butter cookies, pretzel twists or chocolate cookies.
This dip is also great with fresh fruit — red apples, green apple slices, banana slices and strawberries are some of our favorites.
Recipe Variations
For more chocolate flavor, drizzle chocolate sundae syrup or melted chocolate on top of this easy dessert before serving.
You can also use mini chocolate chips and peanut butter chips or Reese’s Pieces for different flavor.
Add more texture with crunchy peanut butter. Or, use almond butter or cashew butter instead.
Recipe Tips
Use softened cream cheese and thawed Cool Whip. Otherwise, the dip won’t blend well.
Use a spatula or large spoon instead of a hand mixer to fold in the whipped topping.
Since it contains dairy products, don’t leave the no bake peanut butter cheesecake dip out more than 2 hours at room temperature.
