- Cream cheese — softened at room temperature for easy mixing
- Sugar cookie mix — any brand. This is the best way to get the classic sugar cookie flavor! You can heat treat the mix so the raw flour in the mix is safe to eat first.
- Milk — to thin out the dip
- Vanilla extract — for flavor
- Almond extract — for flavor
- Cool Whip — or any whipped topping. Makes the dip nice and creamy. You can sub whipping cream, but it doesn’t stay as fluffy.
- Holiday sprinkles
How to Make Christmas Sugar Cookie Dip
First, microwave the cookie mix, then set aside to cool. Cream the cream cheese with the vanilla. milk and extracts until smooth and creamy. Mix in the cookie mix and fold in the whipped topping until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve — easy!
Serving Suggestions
Serve this holiday dessert with your favorite dippers. We like to dip our favorite sugar cookies — the taste is amazing! You can also serve graham crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, fresh fruit or your favorite cookies.
Recipe Tip
Make sure you heat-treat the sugar cookie mix before using for safety.
Don’t forget to thaw the whipped topping before using.
Storage
Store the cookie dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator, or cover the serving bowl with plastic wrap. It keeps well for 3-4 days, so this is a great dip to make ahead of time. Refrigerate the dip within 2 hours of serving — if it’s not gone by then!
Christmas Sugar Cookie Dip
Ingredients
- 17.5 oz sugar cookie mix
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 8 oz cool whip thawed
Instructions
- Put the sugar cookie mix into a large mixing bowl, and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the mix reaches a temperature of 165โ. Allow to cool completely
- Add cream cheese to a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth with a hand mixer
- Add milk, vanilla extract and almond extract, and beat well
- Add in sugar cookie mix and mix until all lumps are gone
- Gently fold in the Cool Whip with a spatula until fully blended
- Transfer the mixture into a serving bowl and top with holiday sprinkles if desired. Refrigerate until ready to serve
