What is Cookie Butter?
Cookie butter is made from ground Biscoff cookies (speculoos cookies.) You may have enjoyed Biscoff cookies as a snack if you have flown on Delta. But, you can buy the cookies and the butter in most grocery stores. With notes of caramel and warming spices, it’s a very tasty alternative to nut butter. Trader Joe’s even sells a premade dip!
Ingredient Notes
Here is what you need to make this no bake dessert. Full amounts are in the printable recipe card below.
- Cream cheese — let it soften at room temperature for easier mixing
- Jar of cookie butter — I used the crunchy varitey, but the creamy version is fine.
- Vanilla extract — to balance the flavor
- Powdered sugar — for sweetness
- Cool Whip — or any whipped topping. Just make sure it is thawed. You can use whipping cream or whipped cream, but the dip may not be as fluffy.
How to Make Cookie Butter Dip
First, whip the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer or stand mixer until creamy. Mix in the cookie butter and vanilla. Then, mix in the powdered sugar until well combined. Finally, fold in the whipped topping.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this fluffy Biscoff dip with your favorite dippers. We love to use Biscoff cookies, vanilla wafers, graham crackers, pretzels and gingersnap cookies. Fresh fruit, especially strawberries and sliced apples, also pairs well with this creamy dip. We like to add crushed Biscoff cookie crumbs to the top of the dip for a fun presentation. You can also use mini chocolate chips!
Storage
Store the dip in an airtight container or cover the bowl with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. It’s a great make ahead dessert! I wouldn’t freeze the dip as it will likely separate when thawed.
Recipe Tips
Make sure the cream cheese is softened and the whipped topping is thawed.
Use a spatula to gently fold in the whipped topping so it stays fluffy.
