These Easy Homemade Meatballs are made with a combination of pork and beef, simmered in marinara sauce and are perfect with pasta, in sandwiches or by themselves!
I think I’ve told you before how much my family loves pasta. We usually have it with sausage or chicken or sometimes, meat sauce. But my family goes crazy whenever I make spaghetti and Homemade Meatballs.
They take just a little extra time and planning, but they’re so easy to make. I like to bake the meatballs first and then let them simmer in a big old pot of homemade marinara sauce until we’re ready to eat. And honestly, they taste absolutely incredible!I used to think making meatballs was a lot of work, so we didn’t have them too often. It’s not that they’re hard to make, but the mixing, rolling and frying do take more time than say, meat sauce.
But, the kids really love spaghetti and meatballs, so I enlisted them and the Hubs to help with the preparation, and it goes so much faster now. Yes, I make them work for their supper, but they actually enjoy it! And, I think they get a kick out of squishing the meat with their bare hands!
Anyone else enjoy this?
I also started baking the meatballs instead of frying them, and it’s so much quicker. There’s no standing by the stove, no turning them over, no wiping splatters or anything like that. They’re nice and juicy too and never, ever dry.
I use a combination of ground beef and pork, and I honestly think the pork makes a huge difference in both the taste and the texture. If you don’t want to use pork, you can use only beef, but if you can, try both meats mixed together. It’s so worth it!

When we make homemade meatballs, we have them with pasta the first night, and they we use them in meatball subs or with leftover pasta later on.
They also make great appetizers, and you can serve them with a tangy chipotle barbecue sauce or maybe even a sweet cranberry orange sauce, instead.ย
We had meatball subs tonight, and I just reheated the meatballs on the stove, added some shredded mozzarella cheese and served them on toasted buns — talk about a tasty quick and easy meal!
