Hi friends! If you had to pick one candy that symbolizes fall, what would it be? I vote candy corn! I just love this stuff, and when I was thinking about fall crafts to make, I realized that I’ve never made anything that features my favorite fall candy. So I took some empty bottles and transformed them into these little DIY candy corn vases!
I’ve used glass jars and scrap wood to make pumpkins, apples and ghosts, but I thought that glass bottles would make better candy corn pieces since they are shaped similar to the candies.

Any glass bottle would probably work for this project, but we have somehow amassed a collection of empty Frappuccino bottles, so that’s what I chose to use. I think they resemble little milk bottles, and I sometimes use them, as is, for flower vases.

I’ve seen bottles like these in the craft stores too, but if you like coffee drinks, this is a tastier and cheaper way to go! Here’s what you’ll need for this project:

How to Make DIY Candy Corn Vases

Supplies Needed:

  • Glass bottles
  • Orange, yellow and white spray paint
  • Twine
  • Plastic wrap or painter’s tape

I took the bottles outside to spray paint them. And, I noticed that the mornings are actually getting cooler — fall is finally on its way! It’s still hot, but when it starts to get cool in the morning, that’s a definite sign that summer is finally on it’s way out the door!

I turned the bottles upside down and used white spray paint on the tops of the bottles.

The orange paint was just plain messy, so I ended up covering the tops with plastic wrap to prevent orange from being sprayed all over the white.

I’ll be the first to admit that this is not a perfect project, and the lines are not neat and clean. But you know what? Real candy corn isn’t perfect either!

My little Diva pointed this fact out to me when she came home from school. She just loves these little candy corn vases, and when I tried to touch up the lines with some craft paint, she actually told me to leave it alone.

I tied some twine around the tops, just for a little extra embellishment. My little guy suggested the black and white twine because he said it reminded him of Halloween.

We don’t have any fall flowers around here, so I used some faux fall flowers instead. They kind of match the colors on the vases.

Even the Hubs liked these candy corn vases, and I figure if he likes a craft of mine, it can’t be all that bad. And, since I already had the supplies I needed, this fall craft didn’t cost a dime. Can’t beat that!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

We don't have candy corn here in the uk but it looks so cute! I think I could probably get it from a specialist shop or online at a push. The colour combo makes them so perfect for craft incarnations and I love your jar vases.
