This easy no bake Eggnog Pie has won a permanent place on our Thanksgiving and Christmas dessert menus. It’s light, fluffy and a family favorite!
You know, one of the best things about the holiday season has got to be eggnog! I remember drinking it from my special Santa mug when I was a kid, which seemed to make it taste even better.
Now, my kids go crazy for this stuff, and one of their favorite ways to enjoy it is by indulging in a tasty slice of eggnog pie. It’s cool, creamy, and you only need 5 ingredients to make it!
- Eggnog
- Pie crust — graham cracker or frozen pie crust
- Jello Instant Pudding Mix
- Cool Whip or non dairy topping
- Nutmeg
I started serving this no bake pie for dessert at Thanksgiving and Christmas a few years ago, and my oldest daughter has now made it her specialty.
We love this holiday pie so much that my daughter always makes two at one time. This way, we can enjoy some for dessert on the actual holiday and have more the next day.
My daughter likes to add a little bit more whipped topping as a garnish and some additional nutmeg over the filling — yum!
The pie is light and fluffy, so it’s the perfect ending to a heavy meal, and no one can say they don’t have room for dessert! It also goes great with a cup of coffee, Instant Pot Hot Chocolate or eggnog — double yum!

Instead of using a baked pie shell, could I use a graham she’ll or maybe an oreo
If it’s a pre-baked shell, it should be fine.
Hi I recently tried making this and was super excited but the filling turned out really hard and gummy versus light and fluffy…any suggestions?
Hmm. Was the whipped topping thawed? Did you use the small Jello? We’ve been making this for a long time and recently made it again and have never had any problems. I’d love to brainstorm with you because it really is a tasty pie.
Do you think that this recipe would work using Silk Nog instead of regular egg nog? I prefer the taste and the reduced calories and fat, however I don’t know if it would cause the pudding to thicken as regular egg nog would.
That’s what I would be concerned about, but you could definitely try and see what happens. It might be fine, just not as thick.
Thoughts on adding a touch of spiced rum, or any other alcohol that people mix with eggnog? (I’ve never had an eggnog “adult” version and thought it’s something different to add to the holiday party
You would just need to make sure that the mixture doesn’t get runny with the extra liquid, but I would definitely give it a try!
I haven't had eggnog pie, I didn't know about it. My family loves eggnog so I'm sure this will be a hit! Thank you! ๐
Ooh this egg nog pie looks delicious. I think I am addicted to anything with nutmeg in it, but especially creamy pies! Yummy. Sammie http://www.feastingisfun.com
The Cool Whip gives it a fluffy texture, but I don't think it adds any sweetness. I think homemade whipped cream would be wonderful. My daughter likes to make this on her own, and it's easier for her to use the Cool Whip. Let me know how yours turns out! ๐
I wish I could get Eggnog in July…This pie looks so good and we have a Pie Contest on the 4th of July. Does the Cool Whip make it sweeter? I'm thinking if I could make my own whipped topping and regulate the sugar. Do you think that would work or would it break down.
Thanks so much for the feature! ๐
Thanks so much! It's very easy, and we love it!
