This easy no bake Eggnog Pie has won a permanent place on our Thanksgiving and Christmas dessert menus. It’s light, fluffy and a family favorite!
You know, one of the best things about the holiday season has got to be eggnog! I remember drinking it from my special Santa mug when I was a kid, which seemed to make it taste even better.
Now, my kids go crazy for this stuff, and one of their favorite ways to enjoy it is by indulging in a tasty slice of eggnog pie. It’s cool, creamy, and you only need 5 ingredients to make it!
- Eggnog
- Pie crust — graham cracker or frozen pie crust
- Jello Instant Pudding Mix
- Cool Whip or non dairy topping
- Nutmeg
I started serving this no bake pie for dessert at Thanksgiving and Christmas a few years ago, and my oldest daughter has now made it her specialty.
We love this holiday pie so much that my daughter always makes two at one time. This way, we can enjoy some for dessert on the actual holiday and have more the next day.
My daughter likes to add a little bit more whipped topping as a garnish and some additional nutmeg over the filling — yum!
The pie is light and fluffy, so it’s the perfect ending to a heavy meal, and no one can say they don’t have room for dessert! It also goes great with a cup of coffee, Instant Pot Hot Chocolate or eggnog — double yum!

Can you use the eggnog that already has the southern comfort in it in all the recipes….
You should be able to unless it’s a lot thinner than regular eggnog. It might just take longer to set up.
Is this recipe calling for 1/2 cup of egg nog or 1 cup as well as a 1/2 cup?
It’s one cup plus one half of a cup total, or 1 1/2 cups. ๐
Can this filling be used in a 9×13. I want to make a grahm cracker/pecan crust in a 9×13 and then add this filling. Thank you for any insight you can provide
You might want to double up on the filling if you want it to be nice and fluffy, but it would definitely work in that kind of pan.
Don’t even think about using light whipped topping!
I don’t think you need to worry about that! ๐
So we are celebrating Thanksgiving this coming Sunday and I am going to make this pie. My family (except hubs) loves Eggnog and to have it in a pie is the best. This is a simple and quick dessert which I love. I have pin this on Pinterest Board.
That’s wonderful, Shandra. I hope everyone likes it!
I am trying this tommorow for thanksgiving. So excited!
This pie is beautiful! I’m sure it’s as delicious as it looks.
Thank you so much, Julia. My family loves it!
Oh My!! My husband LOVED IT, he told me this pie is now a Thanksgiving tradition. I used a graham cracker pie crust, and sprinkled a little nutmeg on the finished pie. My in-laws were convinced it was a store bought pie, I told them to try recipes on Pinterest. I will be making this pie again, very soon.
Thank you SO much for the sweet comment! It’s one of our favorite holiday pies, and I’m so glad you liked it! Pinterest is awesome. ๐
Is instant vanilla pudding mix a special thing? Are they all instant or some need to be cooked? Just curious before I head out to grab some if I need to be looking for a special kind?
I use Jell-O instant vanilla pudding, and you can find it in most stores. Just look for instant on the box.
Dumb question, but do you follow the directions on the instant pudding to make it and then add eggnog or what?
Hi Mandy — Just follow the recipe directions and video, and that’s it! ๐
Gosh, this looks ahhhhmazing! I love eggnog, but have never thought to have it in a pie. Great recipe! I can’t wait to make it ๐
Thanks, Sammi! It’s one of our favorite ways to enjoy eggog. ๐
