This easy homemade honey butter recipe makes a delicious spread perfect for slathering on freshly baked bread, toast, pancakes, and muffins. You only need 2 simple ingredients and a few minutes to make it!
Honey-Flavored Butter
We have been making this super easy recipe for homemade honey butter at least once a week for the past few months. It’s that good and literally comes together in a matter of minutes.
I know y’all don’t always like background stories, but I have to tell you that I was inspired to start making homemade flavored butter after I bought a very popular honey-scented face cream. It smelled so good and reminded me of the kind of whipped butter you get at your favorite steakhouse. So, my daughter and I whipped up our own version of honey-flavored butter, and the rest is history. We love it on bread, muffins, pancakes and dinner rolls!
Ingredient Notes
You can find the exact amounts in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Honey — I use local raw honey in this recipe, but you can use your favorite kind here.
- Butter — I use salted butter for just about everything I make. If you use unsalted butter, you may want to add a pinch of salt for added flavor. Let it soften at room temperature for a little bit for easier mixing.
How to Make Honey Butter
Use an electric mixer to whip the butter until it’s nice and creamy. Then, add the honey, and mix until the ingredients are well blended. Spread the butter on a slice of warm bread, and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
Make cinnamon honey butter by adding a quarter teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Make hot honey butter by mixing in a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce to your liking.
Storage
Store the butter in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks — ours never lasts that long. You can also freeze honey butter wrapped in plastic wrap for up to 3 months.
