This jalapeño popper dip recipe with bacon is an easy appetizer that combines the delicious flavors of stuffed jalapenos into a warm cheesy dip. Perfect for game day and parties!
If you’re looking for hot dip recipe with melty cheese and a spicy kick, you are going to love this easy recipe for jalapeno popper dip. This is one of my favorite appetizers to make during football season, and it is much easier than stuffing a bunch of jalapeno peppers. But, it has the same delicious flavor as jalapeno poppers! Oh, and there’s BACON. Need I say more?
My whole family loves this spicy jalapeno dip — even my picky eaters gobble it right up. And you can control the spice level for those who don’t like spicy foods.
I recommend trying my jalapeno popper wonton cups and jalapeno sausage cornbread muffins or cranberry jalapeno dip if you enjoy recipes with jalapeno peppers as much as I do!
Ingredient Notes
Here’s what you need to make this easy dip. Full amounts are in the printable recipe card below.
- Cream cheese — Have it softened at room temperature to make mixing easier
- Mayonnaise — Use your favorite brand here
- Jalapeno peppers — diced, with a few slices for the top. Scrape out the seeds for a milder dip or leave them in for extra heat.
- Shredded cheese — a blend of cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese
- Garlic powder and Onion powder — for flavor
- Bacon — to crumble on top of the dip. You can leave it out, but everything is better with bacon!
How to Make Jalapeno Popper Dip
First, use an electric mixer to mix the cream cheese and mayo until nice and smooth. Alternately, you can use your stand mixer or a plain old spoon!
Next, mix in the diced peppers, seasonings, and shredded cheese. The mixture will be thick, but it will get creamier when baked.
Finally, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into a baking dish. I use a square 8×8 dish, but you can easily double the ingredients and use a larger pan. Top with more cheese and crumbled bacon and bake until hot and bubbly.
Serving Suggestions
I usually serve the dip with pita chips, toasted bread rounds, Ritz crackers or Frito corn chips, You can also serve assorted fresh veggies like pepper strips, celery sticks and sliced carrots.
Storage
Refrigerate leftover dip within 2 hours of serving for safety. Either cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or spoon leftovers into an airtight container, and it keeps for 3-4 days. It reheats easily in the microwave or in the oven. This is a great dip to make ahead of time and bake when you are ready to eat!
Recipe Tips
When cutting jalapeño peppers, either wear gloves or wash hands right away after touching to avoid getting the oils in your eyes.
To save time, plan ahead and use leftover cooked bacon from breakfast.
