Ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients to make this creamy Oreo dip. They should be easy to find in your grocery store.

  • Oreo cookies — generic sandwich cookies also work
  • Cream cheese — softened cream cheese at room temperature
  • Vanilla extract — adds flavor
  • Powdered sugar — adds sweetness
  • Cool Whip — thawed. It makes this delicious dip light and fluffy

How to Make Easy Oreo Dip

First, crush 18 of the cookies into fine crumbs. You can use a food processor or place cookies into a freezer bag and crush with a rolling pin.

Next, add the cream cheese and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

Next, add the powdered sugar. Beat the powdered sugar into the cream cheese mixture starting on low speed. You don’t want powdered sugar flying everywhere!

Switch to medium speed, and beat until well combined.

Fold in the whipped topping with a rubber spatula. Don’t use the mixer or the dip won’t be as fluffy.

Finally, stir the crushed cookies into the dip until the cookies are completely blended into the cream cheese mixture.

Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl with the spatula.

Spoon the cookies and cream dip into a serving bowl. Crush the remaining cookies into larger crumbs and sprinkle over the top of the dip.

This creamy dip is ready to eat!

How to Store

If you are not eating the Oreo cookie dip right way, you can cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate it until ready to serve.

Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in your refrigerator. This easy Oreo cookie dip should last up to 4 days — if it lasts that long!

What to Serve with Cookies and Cream Dip

Serve your favorite dippers with this delicious party dip. We love dipping Oreos into the dip!

Graham crackers, animal crackers, vanilla wafers, mini pretzels and fresh fruit are also great choices to add to the serving dish.

Try apple slices and fresh strawberries with this decadent fruit dip!

Recipe Variations

If you feel the Oreo dip is too thick, you can thin it out with a tablespoon or 2 of heavy cream.

Use your favorite chocolate sandwich cookies in this delicious recipe or experiment with different flavors of Oreos — golden Oreos also work. We love chocolate flavor Oreos and Mint Oreos, too!

This fluffy dip also works perfectly as a frosting for cupcakes or a small cake!
