Hi There!
It’s only September, but I have a very quick and easy Halloween craft to show you today. I think I mentioned it before, but I tend to hoard empty glass jars so that I can repurpose them into other things. As much as I love mason jars, it’s cheaper to reuse jars that I already have on hand. Anyway, my stash was growing, so I selected three different jars and, with the help of some orange spray paint and a Sharpie, I turned them into pumpkin jars for Halloween.
I had everything I needed except for orange spray paint, but a quick trip to Home Depot solved that problem! Personally, I love using Rustoleum brand, and I don’t have any trouble with the paint running or streaking. But, you can use whatever brand works best for you. I also think it helps to paint the jars when they’re upside down.
If you look closely, you can see the different layers of spray paint on the cardboard box!
After the paint dried, my assistants and I used black Sharpies to turn the pumpkin jars into jack o’ lanterns.
Whenever I do these jar crafts, I like to add some ribbon around the neck of the jar. This covers up any uneven paint areas around the neck, and it also adds a little bit more color. I almost went with a more rustic-looking twine, but I thought the green ribbon was cuter.
That’s all there is to it! If you can wield a can of spray paint and use a marker, you can easily make these pumpkin jars. You can use them to hold kitchen gadgets, office supplies or anything else you can think of.
It’s an easy way to decorate for Halloween without spending much money at all.
Are you a jar hoarder? I know I can’t be the only one!
Thanks for visiting me today — I hope you’ll come back soon!
