Hi There!
Many of you know that my little Diva loves her American Girl Dolls and how much I love to save money by making our own American Girl clothes and accessories. I haven’t made anything new since school started, but with Christmas coming up, I thought it would be nice to do a roundup of some of our favorite DIY doll projects. These are all super easy to do and much cheaper than buying them from the store. And, handmade gifts are extra special! So if you’re looking for gift ideas, these would be perfect for your favorite AG Doll fan.
My husband and I made this bed for the Diva’s birthday, and she absolutely loves it. We used wood left over from another project, but you can use whatever type of wood that you like.
We had a lot of fun decorating these tote bags. You can get them at any craft store and use paint and appliques to personalize them for your favorite dolls.
The dolls enjoyed dining out at this picnic table during the summer. The wood is glued together, and there’s no painting involved, so it’s easy to make. If you don’t have the right saw, you can have it cut at your favorite home improvement store.
Doll furniture is pricey, and not only was this little nightstand easy to make, but it was also inexpensive. My daughter’s doll has this next to her bed, and it matches perfectly!
My daughter takes dance classes, and so do her dolls, but they needed a ballet barre for their studio. We made this one adjustable so that it could accommodate as many dolls as necessary.
This little no-sew doll dress was the first AG Doll project we did, and it’s very easy. If you
have a sock and scissors, you can make this dress in a few minutes. We’ve made other outfits, but this is the basic one we started out with.
If you like handmade doll clothes and other items, I hope these ideas help you out a little bit, and if you have any questions on any of these projects, just let me know!
Thanks for visiting!
