This easy Summer Fruit Smoothie is made with strawberries, blueberries and kiwi fruit and without yogurt or dairy. It’s a light, refreshing summer drink!
If you’re looking for fruit smoothie recipe without yogurt or dairy products, this mixed berry fruit smoothie is for you!ย Made with a combination of kiwis, strawberries and blueberries, this refreshing summer drink not only tastes great, but it’s pretty healthy too!
We got a new blender, and we’ve been having a ton of fun trying out new smoothie recipes. The weather was so nice this weekend that we were able to sit on the patio and sip some cool blended drinks, like this tasty summer fruit smoothie.
Want to hear something funny? My kids have been asking to make smoothies for the longest time, but we couldn’t find the blender. I don’t even remember the last time we used it, and nobody remembered seeing it in this house.
So of course, what do we somehow find after we bought a new blender? The old one. Of course!
Anyway, the new one does an amazing job, so no one’s complaining. This one isn’t fancy, but like I said, it gets the job done. And, you definitely need a good blender to make fruit smoothies!
How to Make a Fruit Smoothie without Yogurt
For this mixed berry smoothie, we kept it simple and used only fresh fruit, a splash of fruit juice and some ice. Easy peasy and super delicious!
All you do is wash the berries, and peel the kiwi fruit. Then add a little ice and fruit juice to the blender, and crush the ice.
Next, add the fruit to the blender, and puree until smooth. That’s it! Unlike my Cup of Sunshine Smoothie and the Skinny Monkey Smoothie, this one has no yogurt or added protein, so it’s kind of a cross between a smoothie and a slushie.
The flavors blend so well together that there’s no need for any added sugar, which is a definite plus. So, this is such a perfect drink for hot summer days.
I’m thinking that with a touch of Greek yogurt, this summer fruit smoothie would make a great quick and easy breakfast too. Yum!
Can you use Frozen Fruit in Smoothies?
You can definitely use frozen fruit here instead of fresh. If you do, just skip adding the ice. You can also use your favorite fruit and any kind of fruit juice.
