Twix are my daughter’s favorite candy bar. Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite cookie. And this easy Twix chocolate chip cookie recipe is a delicious combination of chocolate and caramel in a chewy cookie base. The best of both worlds!

This Twix cookies recipe is a little different than my usual chocolate chip cookie recipe. It’s a little sweeter, thicker and chewier so it can hold the candy bars and chocolate without any problems. You’ll definitely want to add these candy bar cookies to your baking list today!

Twix candy bars and ingredients for Twix cookies.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make chocolate chip cookies with Twix bars. Full amounts are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Flour — all purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda
  •  Cinnamon — adds flavor
  •  Salt
  • Butter — I use salted butter, but unsalted butter also works
  •  White sugar
  • Brown sugar
  •  Vanilla extract
  •  Eggs — large eggs
  • Semi sweet chocolate chips — contrasts with the milk chocolate candy bars, but you can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate chips if you like.
  • Twix — chopped into bite size pieces

How to Make Twix Chocolate Chip Cookies

First, sift your dry ingredients into a medium bowl, stir, and set aside. Then, cream the butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer. Alternately, you can use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. Add sugars, vanilla and eggs, and mix until well combined.

mix cookie dough with electric mixer in large bowl.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix until fully combined. Then, stir in the chocolate morsels and chopped candy using a spatula.

stir chocolate candy into cookie dough with spatula.

Scoop up balls of cookie dough using a cookie scoop or large spoon. Place dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy clean up. You can use silicone mats if you have them.

Chill the dough balls for 15-20 minutes or until firm. I find it easier to scoop the dough and then chill the whole baking sheet, but you can chill the dough in the mixing bowl if you prefer. Add additional candy bars and morsels on top of the cookies before baking.

Storage

Store these delicious cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days. If your house is very warm, you can place them in the fridge, but they’re best not refrigerated. These cookies freeze well for up to 3 months.

Recipe Tip

Be sure to use softened butter or room temperature butter for easier mixing.

I find it easier to scoop out the cookie dough into balls of dough and then let those chill as opposed to letting the dough chill in the bowl. Do whatever is easiest for you.

Swirl a large drinking glass around the freshly baked cookies to make them the perfect round shape.
