Baked Pierogi Casserole
This Baked Pierogi Casserole Recipe is made with frozen pierogi and kielbasa in a cheesy creamy sauce. An easy casserole and a delicious dinner perfect for busy weeknights!

- 1 medium yellow onion diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 16 oz boxed frozen pierogi
- 1 pound kielbasa smoked sausage, sliced
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
Preheat oven to 375 degrees f
Spray a casserole dish or 13 x 9 inch pan with non stick cooking spray
Sauté the onion in melted butter over medium heat until soft. Set aside
In a mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, milk, salt, pepper and garlic powder until well blended. Add 1 cup cheese
Place frozen pierogi into prepared baking dish, and add the sliced smoked sausage
Spoon onions over pierogi, and spoon sauce over pierogi mixture
Top with remaining shredded cheese. Spray 1 side of a sheet of aluminum foil with non stick spray, and loosely cover casserole with foil
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes covered. Remove foil, and bake for 10-15 minutes longer or until pierogi are fork tender and internal temperature is 160 degrees f.
Remove from oven and allow to sit for 5 minutes before serving
This recipe uses 2 boxes of frozen pierogi. You can halve the recipe for 1 box.
Use your favorite cheese here or use a combination. We like cheddar/Colby.
Sub chicken broth for milk if you like.
