- 1 loaf French bread
- ½ cup butter 1 stick
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 medium garlic cloves minced
- 2 medium jalapeno peppers 1 diced and 1 sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 400℉
Slice loaf of bread in half, length-wise, and place cut sides up on a lined baking sheet
In a small saucepan, melt butter along with olive oil, minced garlic and diced jalapeno pepper over low heat
Brush the melted garlic butter mixture over the bread
Sprinkle bread with garlic powder, and top with cheese
Add jalapeno pepper slices evenly on top of the bread
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until bread is crisp and cheese is melted
For a softer crust, bake at a lower temperature for a little longer. You can also add more cheese if needed.
