- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning
- ½ cup water
- 2 cups cheddar cheese divided
- 2 cans crescent roll dough
Cook ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink
Drain grease, add water and taco seasoning, and simmer until liquid is mostly absorbed
Mix in 1 cup of cheese, remove from heat, and allow to cool while you prepare the dough ring
Preheat oven to 375℉
Place a 5-inch bowl in the center of a pizza pan or large baking sheet
Open packages of crescent roll dough, separate into triangles, and arrange dough triangles in a circle around the bowl with wide ends of triangles up against the bowl. They should overlap a little
Remove the bowl. Spoon taco meat mixture on top of the dough, close to the ends of the triangles. Top with remaining cheese
Bring tip of each triangle up over the filling, and press into bottom layer of dough to seal the ring. The filling will be completely covered
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until dough is golden brown and cheese is melted
Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing
You can use leftover taco meat in this easy recipe, but warm it up first before forming the taco ring.
Drain the taco meat well so the taco ring doesn't get too soggy.
Fill the center of the ring with lettuce, tomatoes and olives and serve with taco toppings.
